Cousins Court

We are a return-to-work project offering a variety of opportunities to people who have experienced mental health problems and difficulties with long-term unemployment. We accept referrals from all agencies and directly from the client themselves. We are not funded by any statutory agency, though spot purchasing can be arranged.

The project exists within two buildings, Cousins Court, a multi-purpose workshop and retail outlet. Adjacent is Wesleyan Lodge Mews, a single-storey building of 2 individual units available to anyone wishing to practise self-employment.

Cousins Court is fully accessible, open 6 days a week, Monday to Friday 10.00am to 4.00pm and Saturday 10.00am to 1.00pm. Our catchment area is the whole of West Norfolk.

We have extensive workshop facilities offering picture framing, small upholstery work, cabinet-making and furniture-restoration, craftwork and IT skills, alongside basic retail training. In conjunction with Remploy Interwork we are able to offer 6-week Worksteps courses. We have a study room available and encourage further education. The training and discipline of work gained at our project enables us to offer a reference to a potential employer regarding progress made by an individual.

NB With effect from May 2004 we have a new Employment Support Worker post funded by the Community Fund. They will link with all West Norfolk Mind projects and assist those service users who wish to gain employment. He will also establish links with employers to ensure the worker and employer have as much support as required and to ensure continuity of employment and the promotion of good mental health in the workplace.
