The WNCRT is an established service within the West Norfolk Primary Care Trust including support staff employed by West Norfolk Mind offering a telephone service to previously identified service users with mental health issues
The WNCRT is accessed via a referral system and there is close collaboration with general practitioners, in-patient mental health services, Community Support Teams, Social Services and other statutory agencies and voluntary or charitable groups.
Access is via a freephone telephone line staffed by support workers and qualified nursing staff fully trained to deal with people in crisis.
The service also offers, in certain circumstances, home treatment packages as well as pre-scheduled home visits.
The service operates Monday to Friday 16.00 -midnight and at weekends from 9.00 to midnight.
Working as a multi-disciplinary team, the service also benefits from the support of Approved Social Workers, designated Accident and Emergency Psychiatric Liaison Nurse support and administration staff, to provide a seamless and equitable standard of care to all.
